As we pack away our winter sweaters and check out the new spring collections we face the problem of a plethora of tops that have diverse straplines, necklines, scoops etc. With spring and summer wear you almost need a different bra for every top. We then have to ask ourselves this question ”to bra or not to bra?” As someone who is generously endowed I dont have the option of “not to bra”. After some research I found that there are many convertible bras out there that will help to solve this visible bra strap problem. My favorites are…
This longer line option from MaidenForm ($43) is an excellent versatile option. The low cut back allows for wardrobe versatility and the longer length makes it more comfortable than your average strapless bra. It also comes with convertible straps that can be worn – strapless, demi, criss cross & halter.
Another long line option is the Back Off Baby Low Back Bustier from Victoria Secret. This product slims your tummy while lifting up your bust. It also has a low back for any scoop dresses or tops you might be rocking this summer.
The U-plunge push up bra from Victoria Secret ($42)is a great option for low neckline items. The straps are convertible and it can be worn as a halter, cross back or classic.
No matter the bra, sizing is key for any bra purchase. You are probably wearing the wrong size if any of the following are occurring:
- Your breasts pillow out of your bra (giving you the dreaded “double boob”)
- Your back strap is riding up
- You experience back pain, neck pain, or headaches
- Your breasts fall out of the bottom of your bra
- Your wires dig in under your breast
- Your wires do not rest flush against your breastbone
- Your bra is gaping on your body
