My favorite thing about walking into Dermalounge is the pleasantess of everyone who works there. Smiles just radiate off the staff who work there and this is especailly true of the owner Dominique Michaud. This spa is convienantly located at the junction of the Mile End, the Plateau and Outtremont. Im there for a spa treatment but I must also check out the upstairs which has a vast beauty and hair salon.

On this visit I have a new therapist as each of the employees here are specialist in the services they practice. On this first visit, Marie-France Nantel, an experienced beautician, (and former spa owner) will introduce me to the Cellmen  facial. Cellcosmet or Cellmen are Swiss products of a very high quality that use active equine cells through a unique process to revitalize your skin.

My facial begins with a thorough cleansing of my skin, then a cinimon and ginger gel is applied with a special activiator to stimulate circulation and make the skin more permeable. The gel is then followed by a lotion, and scrub. The scrub is madeof delicious papaya enzymes and grapefruit micro polymer beads. Marie-France takes her time to explain that each stage of the facial conditions my skin more and more allowing my skin to regain its radiance and youth.

The whole facial was a delight! An hour and a half after my arrival, my skin is beautiful and radiant, and the smile beams from me.  In short, I was delighted by this spa, and I highly recommend it.

Ce qui frappe avant tout lorsque l’on se rend pour la première fois chez Dermalounge, c’est l’extrême sympathie de toutes les personnes qui y travaillent. Ceci n’est sans doute pas étranger au sourire et à la bonne humeur de la propriétaire, Dominique Michaud, qui rayonnent sur les deux niveaux de ce spa à la pointe de la technologie. A la croisée du Mile-End, du Plateau et d’Outremont, très bien situé sur la commerçante et chic rue Laurier, il faut monter à l’étage pour découvrir ce vaste salon de soins esthétiques, de massages, mais aussi de coiffure.

Les personnalités de chacune des esthéticiennes ou de l’infirmière sont ici mises en avant, de même que chacune a ses spécialités, ses techniques, et ses produits préférés. Pour cette première visite, c’est Marie-France Nantel, esthéticienne expérimentée qui possédait avant son propre spa, chez qui Dominique était d’ailleurs cliente, qui va me faire découvrir le soin du visage Cellmen. Les produits Cellcosmet, ou la gamme Cellmen pour les hommes, sont des produits suisses de très grande qualité, utilisant essentiellement des cellules équines actives stabilisées grâce à un procédé unique, qui revitalisent votre propre peau en favorisant les échanges avec elle et reboostent vos cellules fatiguées.

Votre soin commencera par un nettoyage de votre peau, puis avec l’application d’un gel activateur à la cannelle et au gingembre pour stimuler la circulation et rendre la peau plus perméable. Viennent ensuite la lotion, puis un délicieux gommage aux enzymes de papaye et de pamplemousse et aux micro-billes de polymères. Marie-France prend le temps de vous expliquer gentiment tout au long les étapes de votre soin, vous mettant de plus en plus en condition pour laisser votre peau retrouver son éclat et sa jeunesse. Elle est également experte pour vous nettoyer tout en douceur toutes les petites imperfections de votre visage. La force de Cellcosmet est aussi la forte concentration de matériel cellulaire présent. L’application d’un concentré à 30 % obtenu par bio-technologie, puis un massage avec une crème concentrée à 11% finiront de préparer votre peau à recevoir le fantastique Masque Rare, composé entre autres de terres précieuses des Alpes, et d’Edelweiss. Un délice ! Une heure et demi environ après mon arrivée, ma peau est magnifique et éclatante, et le sourire sur mes lèvres. J’ai passé un moment extraordinaire.

Bref, j’ai été enchanté par ce spa, et je vous le recommande vivement. L’atmosphère et le personnel seulement déjà vous donnent envie d’y retourner. J’irai bientôt y essayer d’autres traitements, que je ne manquerai pas de partager avec vous !

A True Wellness Spa Escape.

My masseuse, Kristi, started off with an allover massage. She asked about and focused on a problem area of mine, my shoulders, but didn’t neglect the rest of me whatsoever giving equal focus to my skin and muscles. She used just the right amount of pressure and her “spa voice” – she wasn’t chatty which I liked and which allowed me to be more relaxed and she asked all the right questions. In fact when she asked me to turn over, I almost lost track of which way was up I was so calm and chilled right out in left field. The room was very comfortable and soothing. She wasn’t kind to the knots in my shoulders but the rest of me fared very well. She used luxurious products in my facial, tailored to my skin, and they were ones that smelled good enough to eat. You probably

could as they seemed to have a good selection of all natural supplies and products. The head massage felt incredible and for the foot reflexology massage she was very thorough and didnt tickle me once (Im quite ticklish, or maybe she just had me too relaxed to notice). My skin was glowing after the treatment and for days after. I went in with dry skin from the winter, and I left feeling buffed fresh and new for spring. I’d recommend it to melt the stresses away and feel perfectly rejuvenated.

Lipoderma: A High Tech Spa in Downtown Montreal.

Like many people, I have a few unsightly small vessels of the edges of my nose and on my cheekbones. Recently I had the opportuntiy to try a laser treatment with Cutera at Lipoderma and I have to say the results have been impressive! Firstly, I must emphasize the professionalism of the aesthetician, Mylène, who is a master with these laser devises. She pleasantly explained the process, which would minimize the appearance of my small blood vessels. The laser is very precise and is set according to the thickness of the vein, it is coagulated, so that the circulation takes place normally, that is to say by veins buried deep under the skin. Your body then naturally reabsorbs the clotted vein. Mylene started the treatment by removing any cream or product that was on my face that could potentially increase the photosensitivity of my skin, and she provided me with goggles to protect my eyes. With a few flashes from the laser the small veins around my nose were gone in an instant. The sensation is not especially pleasant and slightly burned, but it was by no means painful. The discomfort was well worth the youthful flawless skin that I walked out of the spa with! The treatment is very quick, and worth it. When my treatment was finished Mylene coated my face in sunscreen to prevent any burning. When I finally looked in the mirror the result was incredible! Ten minutes after I lay on the chair, the small veins on my face have completely disappeared! 15 minutes of your time to look younger and healthier! I recommend it!

Lipoderma : un spa équipé des dernières technologies en plein centre ville.

Comme beaucoup de gens, j’avais quelques petits vaisseaux disgracieux sur les arêtes de mon nez et sur mes pommettes. J’ai eu la chance de pouvoir essayer le traitement au laser Cutera chez Lipoderma et les résultats sont impressionnants ! Tout d’abord, je dois souligner particulièrement le professionnalisme de l’esthéticienne, Mylène, qui maîtrise parfaitement ces appareils à la pointe de la technologie, et vous explique agréablement le processus aboutissant à l’effacement de vos petits vaisseaux. En fait, le laser, très précis, réglé selon l’épaisseur de la veine, vient coaguler celle-ci, afin que la circulation se fasse normalement, c’est-à-dire par des veines enfouies plus profondément sous la peau. Votre corps résorbe alors naturellement la veine coagulée. En pratique, après vous avoir nettoyé le visage pour enlever toute crème ou produit qui pourraient potentiellement augmenter la photosensibilité de votre peau, et vous avoir muni de lunettes pour protéger vos yeux, on va très précisément viser les vaisseaux à éliminer en regardant votre peau au travers d’une large loupe, et commencer le traitement. En quelques « flashs » dirigés sur la petite veine, celle-ci disparaît complètement et instantanément. La sensation n’est pas spécialement agréable et brûle légèrement, mais on ne peut pas parler de douleur. Et que ne ferions-nous pas pour retrouver une peau jeune et sans imperfection ! Le traitement est très rapide, et en vaut vraiment la peine. Une fois terminé, on va enduire votre visage d’un écran solaire pour éviter toute inflammation, et l’on peut enfin se regarder dans un miroir. Le résultat ? Incroyable ! Dix minutes après m’être allongé sur le fauteuil,  les petites veines de mon visage ont totalement disparues ! 15 minutes de votre temps pour paraître plus jeune et plus en santé ! Je vous le conseille !
